Phase two of this Sebastopol driveway is in the books. This is a big one - a wide, full-length concrete pour that runs the entire span of the home's garage and entry area. We worked alongside Farr Construction on this, and that kind of collaboration makes a difference when you're dealing with a project at this scale.
Here's what most people don't think about with a job like this: the work that happens before the concrete ever gets poured matters just as much as the pour itself. The site prep, the forming, the layout of control joints - all of it determines whether you end up with a durable surface or one that cracks and shifts in a few years. We take that part seriously.
The flatwork you're seeing here features clean broom-finished panels divided by crisp tooled joints. That grid pattern isn't just for looks - it controls where the concrete relieves stress as it cures and settles over time. It's one of those details that separates a properly built driveway from one that just looks good on day one.
We're not done yet. The final phase is the stain and seal, which is going to pull the whole thing together. A good stain and seal does two things - it locks in the surface against moisture and staining, and it adds that finished, intentional look that makes a driveway feel like part of the home rather than just a slab of gray. Stay tuned for the reveal.
